The Personal & Professional

EDEN

I was the kid sitting over a bowl of Chili’s bottomless chips with a friend in high school, philosophizing life.

I have always seen and valued the deeper things in life. I probably relied a little too heavily on those deeper things, but eventually found my way into the counseling world and it felt like home. A way of seeing interactions, patterns of behaviors, illness, fear, anxiety something that makes sense and deserves care.

I want to equip you with a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and (if you have them) your kids. We are complex creatures lost inside waiting to be heard, seen, scooped up and loved. Once we can do that for ourselves, we can then:

  • love others & receive love

  • perform better in work

  • communicate effectively

  • change deeply rooted patterns

EDUCATION

I received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Washington University in St. Louis and later identified my passion for the intersection of spirituality and psychology, heading off to The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. There I received dual Masters in Christian Studies and a Masters in Counseling Psychology. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina, and EMDR Trained.

I see my clients, my friends, my family through attachment theory, which means

  1. I work from the premise that we all need relationships.

  2. How we act in relationships come from the first relationship: our caregiver as an infant.

  3. To understand the present, we have to understand our past.

EXPERIENCE

I have several years experience working at all levels of care treating adults and adolescents, male and females, with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders (anxiety, depression, OCD, etc.). I have also served as Program Director for a Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) treating adults and adolescents with eating disorders. My passion is for helping my clients work through identity questions, and doing more intensive work with clients who are experiencing chronic attachment or relationship issues.

I have a group counseling practice that I co-own with my husband, who is also a therapist. We hope to expand our services and providers to continue to offer quality, caring support for those struggling.
